His expertise spans preventive cardiology, complex coronary interventions, congestive heart failure, peripheral arterial disease, vascular wound management, deep vein thrombosis, and the full spectrum of varicose vein disease. Dr. Patel leads the AHS Vein & Vascular Center and has a deep clinical focus on preventive cardiology and longevity medicine — integrating wearable health technology to help patients build long-term cardiovascular resilience.

"Caring for older adults isn't something I came to professionally; it started at my kitchen table. I learned how to listen by listening to my grandparents." — Dr. Tarpan Patel

His clinical expertise spans preventive cardiology, complex coronary interventions, congestive heart failure, peripheral arterial disease, vascular wound management, deep vein thrombosis, and the full spectrum of varicose vein disease. He is known for combining advanced procedural skill with a thoughtful, prevention-first approach to long-term cardiovascular health.

Beyond the cath lab, Dr. Patel has a deep clinical interest in preventive cardiology and longevity medicine. He works with patients to identify and modify cardiovascular risk years — often decades — before disease becomes symptomatic, drawing on advanced lipid testing, coronary calcium imaging, and other tools that go beyond standard screening. He is also an active proponent of wearable health technology, using data from devices like WHOOP, Apple Watch, and continuous glucose monitors to help patients understand their own physiology and make meaningful, sustainable changes to sleep, recovery, stress, and metabolic health. His goal is simple: not just to treat heart disease when it arrives, but to help patients build the kind of cardiovascular resilience that keeps it from arriving in the first place.

A Chicago native, Dr. Patel earned his medical degree from St. Matthew's University School of Medicine in Grand Cayman. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago, followed by fellowships in general cardiology and interventional cardiology at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, New York.

Dr. Patel sees patients at Arizona Heart Specialists' offices throughout the West Valley and is dedicated to helping each patient achieve their best possible heart and vascular health.
